President Al-Assad receives Muhammad Jawad Zarif, Iranian Foreign Minister, and his accompanying delegation and the talks dealt with the bilateral relations between the two countries, the continuation of consultation and coordination at all levels, in addition to ways to enhance joint cooperation in various fields, especially at the economic level, in the interest of the two peoples and the two friendly countries.

They discussed developments in the political track, including the constitution discussion committee, in addition to the situation on the ground in Syria and the illegal American and Turkish presence, which impedes the continuation of the anti-terror process and causes instability in the region.

The talks also touched on developments in the situation in the region, the recent “Israeli” aggression on the Palestinian territories, and Israeli practices aimed at changing the character and status of the occupied Palestinian territories, including Jerusalem.

Minister Zarif briefed President Al-Assad on the developments of the Iranian nuclear file, the details of the negotiations that are taking place around it, and the sabotage role played by some parties aimed at obstructing progress in these negotiations.
