International Olympic Committee honors international swimmer Firas Mualla
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) honored Syrian swimmer Firas Mualla in Prague for winning the bronze medal in 3km swim 17th FINA World Masters Championships that were held in Hungary last August.
“Getting this international award is a crowning of the efforts of every Syrian athlete,” said Mualla in a statement.
It is also an additional incentive to do more and better as the secretary of the Syrian Olympic Committee and as a swimmer, he added.
The Syrian international champion is now preparing to engage in a series of international championships in long-distance and masters swimming early next year.
