Ambassador Haddad attends celebration of 10th anniversary of Russia recognizing South Ossetia independence

Representing President Bashar al-Assad, Syria’s Ambassador to Russia Riyad Haddad attended a celebration marking the 10th anniversary of Russia recognizing the independence of South Ossetia.

In a speech during the event, which was attended by President of South Ossetia Anatoliy Bibilov, Haddad relayed the greetings of President al-Assad and his thanks for the invitation to attend the celebration which was sent by President Bibilov.

The Ambassador said that President al-Assad assigns importance to bilateral relations and developing them, noting that Syria’s recognition of South Ossetia affirms its belief in its people’s right to independence.

He pointed out to the agreements signed during President Bibilov’s recent visit to Syria, adding that Syria is looking forward to South Ossetia’s participation in the 60th edition of Damascus International Fair.
